Stormcrest
Home ground · PlainsKnightly order of the coast
“The tide does not ask permission to advance. Neither do we.”
Disciplined, unyielding, and bound by oath. They speak in the measured tones of those who have stared down the storm and not flinched. Duty is their creed; the Plains, their altar.
Lore
The Stormcrest Order was forged in the salt-wind and the iron of the coastal plains. Their banners snap like sails in the gale, and their charge is as relentless as the tide. Every knight swears to hold the line where the land meets the sea, and their spears are never far from the horizon.
On the Plains, they are unstoppable. The open ground lets their Lancers flow like quicksilver, covering ground at 14 mv while Shieldbearers anchor the line with 5 Str. The favored-terrain +1 is their birthright here, a whisper of the storm’s fury in every clash.
Gryphon Riders scout from above, their Ranged volleys harrying foes before the melee begins. Trebuchets lumber behind, their siege role breaking city walls. But it is the Paladins who strike first—First Strike cleaving the enemy line before a single sword is raised in reply.
They do not fear the marsh, though it slows them. They do not fear the forest, though it tangles their charge. The Stormcrest fight where they must, but they fight best where the wind is free and the earth is firm beneath their boots.
Strategy
Stormcrest thrives on Plains, where their Lancers (14 mv) outmaneuver foes and their favored-terrain +1 turns skirmishes into routs. Paladins (7 Str) lead the charge with First Strike, while Gryphon Riders soften targets with Ranged volleys. Shieldbearers (5 Str) hold the line, and Trebuchets break walls. Avoid Marsh—it costs 4 to enter, crippling their speed. Keep moving; the Plains are their weapon.

The backbone of the line. Three strength, no frills—just the unshakable wall of spears the Stormcrest were built upon.
Tactics · Costs 2 to enter Plains, their home ground. Cheap, expendable, but never wasted where the fighting is thickest.
Five strength and a leadership of 1. The anvil to the storm’s hammer, their shields hold the line so the charge can break it.
Tactics · Favors Hills and Plains. Slow (8 mv), but their durability turns battles into sieges of attrition.
Fourteen movement on Plains (1.5 cost), their charge is a thunderclap. But forests slow them to a crawl (4 cost).
Tactics · Never let them idle. Their strength is in motion—Plains let them dictate the fight’s tempo.
Terrain · Moves swiftly through Plains (1.5 vs 2) · Slowed in Forest (4 vs 3)
Seven strength, two HP, and First Strike. The storm’s fist, landing the first blow before the enemy can raise a blade.
Tactics · Lead the charge. Their durability (2 HP) means they’ll survive to strike again—and again.
Ranged volleys from above, and they cross terrain others cannot (2 cost for Mountains, Water, Marsh). The storm’s eyes.
Tactics · Scout, harass, retreat. Their 4 Str is deceptive—it’s their mobility and Ranged that win fights before they begin.
Terrain · Moves swiftly through Forest (2 vs 3) · Moves swiftly through Hills (2 vs 3) · Crosses Mountains others cannot (2 to enter) · Crosses Water others cannot (2 to enter) · Moves swiftly through Marsh (2 vs 4)
Siege role cancels city walls. Six movement, but they’re the storm’s artillery—break the gates, and the charge follows.
Tactics · Slow (6 mv), but indispensable. Let the cavalry screen them; their 4 Str is enough to hold the line until the walls fall.
